Hit it directly, do not dance around it.
Aries is ruled by Mars, the planet of direct action. Hints, sighs, and passive-aggressive comments do not work — they actually make the fight worse, because Aries reads them as evasion. The fastest way to disarm an Aries is to say plainly what is wrong. "I am angry about X" gets you a hundred miles farther than three days of low-grade tension.
They are not attacking you, they are venting heat.
When an Aries gets loud, it is rarely about you specifically. It is the heat of the moment moving through them. Five minutes later it is usually gone. Do not treat the peak of the argument as the truth of how they feel — that is the worst version of it, not the real version. Let the heat pass and the actual conversation will be much smaller.
Match the energy, do not absorb it.
Going quiet, freezing, or playing victim with an Aries does not de-escalate the fight; it confuses them. They read it as either contempt or surrender, and they will push harder. The move is to stay engaged, hold your own ground, and push back when they overstep. Aries respects someone who can hit back without getting cruel.
Do not bring up old material.
An Aries fight is about the thing happening now. Drag in "and also, three months ago you…" and you have lost them. They have already forgiven the old thing — or at least filed it away — and they read the move as bad faith. Keep each argument scoped to its actual subject. If something from the past is unresolved, raise it separately, on a calm day.
Resolution requires explicit closure.
Aries does not assume the fight is over just because the volume dropped. They want a clean ending — "we good?" — and they want it stated. If you leave the resolution implicit, they may circle back hours later to check. Just say it. The argument actually ends when both of you say it ends.
They will not hold it against you.
An Aries who has finished a fight is genuinely finished with it. They will be warm an hour later, affectionate that evening, and acting like nothing happened by the next morning. This is not avoidance — it is how they actually work. If you can keep up with the speed of the cycle, conflict with an Aries is one of the least toxic conflicts you will ever have.
